You and me against the world
sometimes it seems like you and me against the world
when all the others turn their backs and walked away

you can count on me to stay

In the early spring of 1974 songwriters Kenny Ascher and the great Paul Williams wrote and released a song recorded by grammy award winner Australian-born female singer Helen Reddy tittled: "YOU AND ME AGAINST THE WORLD" This was the very first song the two ever collaborated on together.

Paul Williams is one of my favorite songwriters of all time, and just to name a few of his long list of hits include classic songs like We’ve Only Just Begun, Rainy Days and Mondays for The Carpenters and Just An Old Fashioned Love Song for the 70's band Three Dog Night. He has also won an academy award for best song Evergreen which was also co-written by the original DIVA herself Brooklyn's own MS. Barbara (BABS) Streisand for the motion picture A Star Is Born.

Mr. Williams was recently elected President and Chairman of the Board of ASCAP - The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

CONGRATULATIONS PAUL - WELL DESERVED!!!!

I can still remember the very first time I ever heard this song it really struck a nerve and reflected some of my true inner feelings I felt at that time in my life and it still affects me today every time I hear it.

I was a young teenager growing up in Brooklyn New York and my mom an old fashion family oriented Italian American woman who endured a lot of hardship while raising 4 children on welfare.

I can remember very clearly there were many of nights I would catch my mom crying because we had no or very little food in the refrigerator, the telephone or the electricity service was cut off for several days and weeks on end, she just couldn’t keep up with all the bills but some how she always managed to make the best of things with a smile.

AND FOR ALL THE TIMES WE CRIED TOGETHER MA, I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT GOD WAS ON OUR SIDE.

I quit school at a young age to make a buck the honest way, I had to grow up real fast there was no time to waste and getting a education was not a major priority at that time there was more of a urgent need to help my mother put food on the table and help pay the bills in hopes of making a better life for us.

My mother who was and still is a hard working woman has always put her children first, although she is getting on in years I made a promise to GOD that I would be more of a loving and understanding son and that I would make her laugh and smile more often in her golden years.

My mom is a loving person and a great human being I love her dearly and will always put her first in my life. I RESPECT HER for being such a strong woman and I THANK HER for always being there for me and I am PROUD to be called her son.

My father who abandoned his wife and children at a young ages and if it was by todays standards legally by law he would be considered a deadbeat dad. He never once reached out to his children or even cared about their emotional or financial well being.

(LET GOD BE THY JUDGE.)

Although its been many years and I have forgiven him for his immaturity and lack of support. I have reached out to him on several occasions throughout my childhood and adult life, and I finally came to the realization on my own terms that he is not a nice person, let alone a father figure or a loving family man and he could give a dam less about his children then or now what a disgrace to humanity.

Forgive us our trespasses/sins, as we forgive those who trespass/sinned against us.

Forgive my sins, as I forgive your sins.

Hard work along with my love and interest in MUSIC has kept me out of trouble for most of my life and I am very THANKFUL there’s a lot to be said for that, although at times it feels like a CURSE then a PASSION.

You and me against the world
sometimes it seems like you and me against the world

when all the others turn their backs and walked away you can count on me to stay

Thank you Ma, for helping me become the man I am today.

That's right MA, STAND PROUD!!!!

Look how far we've come Ma.

Please forgive me Ma for any heartbreak I may have caused you throughout the years.

It will always be You and Me Against The World MA, and You Can Always Count On Me to Stay and be by your side till the end MA.

I LOVE YOU and I THANK GOD that you are my MOTHER and I wouldn’t want it any other way nor would I change a thing in my life as long as you are my MOTHER.

Love you always MA!!!
your son Anthony
